Kim Scott-Ritchie – Owner/Instructor

Fitness is a big part of my life both professionally and personally. My career in the Fitness Industry spans over 17 years in a number of countries in various roles such as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and an experienced Business Centre Manager.

I discovered Pilates when seeking rehabilitation for a running injury and was so impressed with how effective it was that I went on to study and train as a Pilates Teacher with Absolute Pilates in Auckland and since moving to Palmerston North 8 years ago I have continued further training in Wellington and Auckland and in the STOTT Pilates method.

Specializing in Pilates for the past 9 years I've worked with people of different ages, abilities and goals to see firsthand how it can improve everybody in some way and that’s what I love most about what I do. I also enjoy an active lifestyle participating in triathlons and spending time with my fiancé and our 7 year old daughter.

Wendy Curry – Pilates Mat Instructor Part Time  

Wendy is a prime example of how much Pilates can change your life!  Wendys Pilates journey started with us 3 years ago when she came searching for a way to get strong and flexible and as a busy mum she just wanted to do something for herself.   She loved it so much she's turned her passion into her job!

Last year she completed her Pilates Mat training course in Wellington, then fullfilled her training hours with us and is now introducing new clients to Pilates with our Beginner programmes.  She is now working towards her Pilates equipment qualifications with further study in the Stott Pilates methond.

​Wendy has been described as having a very calming nature and really puts her clients at ease which is just perfect for Beginners.  Wendy is available Monday and Wednesday mornings and Tuesdsay evenings.

Nick Mannix – Pilates Reformer and Mat Instructor Part Time
                         - ManGo Instructor (Mens Only Fitness)


Nick is a fully qualified Fitness Trainer and a former Physical Trainer with the New Zealand Defence Force with over 25 years experience in the Fitness Industry and since coming on board with Personal Pilates last year, he's Pilates trained too!  Throughout his life he's competed in social and competitive leagues for most sports including football, rugby, swimming, water polo, cycling, running, triathlons, kickboxing, gymnastics, in fact if there's a sport, you can pretty much guarantee he's done it! Now in his late 40's and 2 health- related operations later, he considers himself more of a weekend warrior who enjoys a good dose of mountain biking and going hunting whenever he can.  

Nick also runs our ManGo programmes, a Mens Only Health and Wellness Service, aimed at giving men a different approach to fitness, helping them achieve their healthy balance with juggling work, home, study and parent commitments.  To learn more about ManGo click here.

Michelle Burns – Instructor Part Time  (currently on study leave.)   

I have played and participated in many different forms of exercise and love it all.
After completing my Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at University of Otago, I occupied some time travelling the world and spent 3 years working as an Exercise Physiologist in Sydney, Australia. During this time I sought out Pilates to help rehabilitate an injury and was hooked!
Since moving back to NZ, I completed a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Pilates qualification through Polestar Pilates NZ to help others experience Pilates for themselves  I currently work 2 days a week at Personal Pilates where I love being part of the journey where clients become masters of their own body and achieve a greater body awareness and self-confidence.  The rest of the time, my one year old son keeps me on my toes!
