Kim Scott-Ritchie – Owner/Instructor

Fitness is a big part of my life both professionally and personally. My career in the Fitness Industry spans over 18 years in a number of countries in various roles such as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and an experienced Business Centre Manager.

I discovered Pilates when seeking rehabilitation for a running injury and was so impressed with how effective it was that I went on to study and train as a Pilates Teacher with Absolute Pilates in Auckland and since moving to Palmerston North 11 years ago I have continued further training in Wellington and Auckland and in the STOTT Pilates method.

Specializing in Pilates for the past 11 years I've worked with people of different ages, abilities and goals to see firsthand how it can improve everybody in some way and that’s what I love most about what I do.   I also enjoy an active lifestyle participating in triathlons and spending time with my husband (Nick, see his profile below) and our 10 year old daughter.

Wendy Curry – Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructor Part Time  

Wendy is a prime example of how much Pilates can change your life!  Wendys Pilates journey started with us 4 years ago when she came searching for a way to get strong and flexible and as a busy mum she just wanted to do something for herself.   She loved it so much she's turned her passion into her job!

Wendy has completed her Mat Certification and Reformer Essential and Intermediate Levels with STOTT Pilates and is currently working towards certification in all other equipment based Pilates.  She likes to create fun and challenging sessions and as a result she has developed a loyal following of clients who attend regularly.  

​Wendy has been described as having a very calming nature and really puts her clients at ease which is just perfect for Beginners.  Wendy is available Tuesday and Friday evenings and Wednesday mornings.

Nick Mannix – Pilates Reformer and Mat Instructor Part Time
                         - ManGo Instructor (Mens Only Fitness)


Nick is a fully qualified Fitness Trainer and a former Physical Trainer with the New Zealand Defence Force with over 25 years experience in the Fitness Industry and since coming on board with Personal Pilates last year, he's now STOTT Pilates trained too!  Throughout his life he's competed in social and competitive leagues for most sports including football, rugby, swimming, water polo, cycling, running, triathlons, kickboxing, gymnastics, in fact if there's a sport, you can pretty much guarantee he's done it! Now in his late 40's and 2 health - related operations later, he considers himself more of a weekend warrior who enjoys a good dose of mountain biking and going hunting whenever he can.  

Nick also runs our ManGo programmes, a Mens Only Health and Wellness Service, aimed at giving men a different approach to fitness, helping them achieve their healthy balance with juggling work, home, study and parent commitments.  To learn more about ManGo click here.

Nick is available Monday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday mornings.

Helen Kirk - Pilates Instructor/Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist - Part Time

Helen's passion for movement started from a young age training as a ballet dancer for 18 years under the tutelage of Dorothea Ashbridge, one of New Zealand’s top instructors. This early learning gave her the foundation to build a solid and successful career in the Fitness Industry where she spent over 14 years working as a Personal Trainer and a Les Mills Instructor before deciding to become a Pilates Instructor. 

As a comprehensive trained Instructor (meaning she is certified in all Pilates apparatus) Helen has worked in studios both in Australia and New Zealand teaching Pilates Group Reformer, Mat and Barre classes.  She's also further extended her Pilates training into rehabilitation services, contracting to Physio and Chiropractic clinics.

Having recently moved to Palmy from Auckland, we are excited to have Helen joining our team and sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience with all our clients.  It's also giving us the opportunity to extend our Group Class timetable and offer further Private sessions.  She will be available for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Arantzasu Morales - Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist - Part Time

Originally from Chile Ari moved to NZ in 2019 to be with her partner who is studying at Massey University. She was introduced to Pilates in 2011 whilst in the first years of her Physiotherapy degree and gained her Pilates Certification in Mat and Reformer at Studio Pilates Chile in 2015.   
 
She worked for over 3 years in a Sports Clinic gaining the experience of working with different types of clients, from young children to elderly, sports-people and with those requiring rehabilitation.  Arantzasu comes to us with a vast range of skills and knowledge, additionally she loves to search and try new exercises, in a way to innovate and create new and fun challenges for her clients.  
She currently works Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

 Please Note: As Arantzasu is not yet registered with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand she is only practicing as a Pilates Instructor specialising in Pilates Rehabilitation.  If you require Physiotherapy treatment please seek a registered Physiotherapist - it is possible that they can refer you on to Arantzasu for ongoing Pilates sessions.
